NOW HIRING

Part-time sales positions available now in our San Francisco & Oakland locations!

Foggy Notion began as a place founder Alissa Anderson could make and sell her own goods as well as those of her friends and other makers. Over the past 5 years, it has grown to include over 100 makers and a satellite shop in Oakland. Our specialty has become high-quality handmade apothecary products like organic skincare, soy candles, artisanal edibles, as well as home goods and accessories. Our goal is to connect our customers with the products and makers we care so deeply about, by sharing the stories behind the products and makers and educating them about materials, ingredients, and usage. Customer service is crucial to the success of our shop and what makes us stand out from other boutiques. We strive to be an inviting and calming environment full of good vibes and great smells, to create an inspiring sanctuary for customers and employees alike, and to provide a place to consistently pick up thoughtful and unique gifts.

We love hiring good folks with positive energy, enthusiasm, genuine warmth and friendliness, curiosity, organization, and attention to detail. Previous retail experience is welcomed and wonderful but not necessarily required.

Please send your resume, a short letter about how you heard about us and/or why you’d love to join our team, and your preferred number of days a week and any scheduling preferences to: info@foggy-notion.com. A somewhat flexible schedule is preferred, occasionally working after-hour events and being able to cover/trade shifts with other employees as needed. Ideally you would be able to work 2-3 days a week, either entirely at one shop or open to working at both, and would be able to make a commitment though 2017.

Product knowledge: Learn about all our products & makers and share this information with the customers in a friendly and helpful way.

Have Company Pop-Up

We are happy to announce that will be hosting Marlee from Have Company in our Oakland shop starting today, Wednesday, Jan. 25th through Friday, Feb. 24th!

Marlee stocks books, zines, tarot cards and more. Have Company is dedicated to providing space in many ways – for voices in the writings she offers and in person. If you already love what we have at Foggy Notion, you will absolutely love Marlee’s offerings as well.

Marlee moved to Oakland from Grand Rapids last summer, where Have Company was a brick and mortar shop that hosted events, workshops, performances, and more. We are proud to be her first physical space in California in this small way…so let’s welcome her warmly!

You’re invited to stop by for tea or just sit and chat during Marlee’s open hours of Weds. – Fri. from 11-7, and her goods will be available Saturdays and Sundays during our usual hours as well.

Marlee will also be present on Sunday, Feb. 12th during our monthly Macarthur Annex Second Sundays event.
